Fund-A-Dream

To be eligible for this scholarship the student must have a balance of $2500 or more. Please contact your school if you are interested in applying, complete this form and submit to your school office.

Kaltenbach Family School Employee Fund

The David & Linda Kaltenbach Family Fund also known as the School Employee Fund (SEF) is a tuition assistance opportunity available to full-time, tuition-paying school employees whose children are K-12 students at a school within the Diocese. ​

​Full-time: 30+ hours/week and eligible for diocesan health benefits.​

Special Scholarships

Deadline March 15, 2025 

If you meet the criteria below, please contact your school for an application. 

Bishops’ Scholarship for Excellence: Ten $3,500 scholarships for high school students and twenty $1,200 scholarships for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in DTA participating schools within the Diocese of Cleveland.​

Cathedral Latin Scholarship: One $1,000 scholarship to a high school student nominated by their principal in each of the DTA participating high schools within the Diocese of Cleveland.​

GEIS Scholarship Program: Scholarships up to $5,000, open to students who are refugees or immigrants or children of first-generation immigrants enrolled in Catholic high schools in Cuyahoga County.

John L. Patton Memorial Scholarship: Offers full tuition for one academic year to one 10th or 11th grade student enrolled at any of the Diocesan-owned high schools: Cleveland Central Catholic, Elyria Catholic, Holy Name, Lake Catholic, or Villa Angela-St. Joseph High Schools. Must have a parent or grandparent who is currently serving or is a veteran of the U.S. Military.​

Thomas Moore Elementary Scholarship: Four $500 scholarships each academic year to four elementary students in the Diocese of Cleveland.​

Martin T. Galvin Memorial Scholarship: Provides $1,000-$1,500 scholarship assistance to a student enrolled or entering a high school providing a Catholic education within the Diocese of Cleveland. Students must have a family member who is a member of the Catholic Lawyers Guild or a parent who is an attorney practicing law in Northeast Ohio, are registered at a parish in the Diocese, and are participating members of their school and/or community.

Emergency Tuition Assistance

Available: Nov. 1 – May 1 during the school year

Emergency Tuition Assistance Grants are available to families with children in elementary 

and/or high schools in the Diocese of Cleveland, who are experiencing a major family crisis 

and cannot meet their tuition obligation. The school should discuss options available to the 

family at the local level first. This may include a payment plan and/or local financial assistance. 

If all of these options have been exhausted, the school can request an application by emailing Cindy Williams, Scholarship Coordinator at cwilliams@dioceseofcleveland.org.
