Wildlife conservation contest

Longear Sunfish illustrationThe State-Fish Art program is a K-12 national art and writing contest. It is a conservation program aiming to foster discovery of the natural world, and increase awareness and respect for aquatic life. Our own 5th grader, Grant, won 2nd place in the 4th – 6th grade division for the state of Ohio! He chose to research and illustrate the Longear Sunfish, which is the state fish for Arkansas.

In addition to a 2nd place certificate, Grant’s illustration is included on the wildlifeforever.org website.

Congratulations to Grant on this accomplishment!
