We Are Getting Ready For Catholic Schools Week

Catholic schools all across the nation will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week from January 31st through February 5th, 2016.

National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2016 is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” Here at Sacred Heart of Jesus School, we observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses, a talent show, career day and various service projects. Other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members are planned throughout the week. Our celebration ends with an exciting school carnival for parish and community families to enjoy. Through these events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

Catholic schools offer academic excellence and faith-filled education for students nationwide.  National test scores, high school graduation rates, college attendance and other data show that Catholic schools frequently outperform schools in both the public and private sectors. The below info graphic, provided by www.ncea.org, shares facts and figures about the ongoing excellence in our country’s Catholic schools.

Be sure to check back next week to read about all that Sacred Heart of Jesus School will be doing to celebrate our great school!
