Generous hearts make our fundraiser a success
The annual Sacred Heart School Auction is important for many reasons.
At this time of the year, a committee of countless volunteers are working hard tending to last minute details to bring our biggest annual fundraiser to fruition. Sacred Heart of Jesus School’s PTA, also known as WHYS, puts on an elaborate silent and live Auction each year. The proceeds from the Auction benefit the school in so many ways. This fundraiser is a crucial element to being able to lend a hand to the school, and offer assistance for things like field trips, parent/school communication methods, technology equipment and so much more!
It’s not uncommon for schools across the country to cut out extracurricular activities and field trips because of lack of funds. Many schools are using out of date technology, or none at all, because levies haven’t passed or the cost to update this equipment is not in the budget. Students, teachers and staff are affected greatly when funds needed to invest into a school are just not there.
Here at Sacred Heart of Jesus School, we are excited to be able to tell parents and students that, yes, field trips are offered and are funded by money received from the Auction! Enrichment activities like Power of the Pen, overnight camps, school plays, dances and outings are offered to the students. Teacher requests and wish list items are fulfilled. Field trips are paid for in full with the exception of Washington D.C. All of this is made possible because of the many generous families, parishioners and friends of this school.
The theme of this year’s Auction is The Great Gatsby, in roaring 20s style. The Auction committee does an amazing job with transforming a ballroom into the year’s theme. You feel like you have stepped into a different world for an evening of fun, food and good friends.
Here at Sacred Heart of Jesus School, we feel truly blessed by all of the support we receive from the school families and parish community. Generous hearts make our fundraiser a success, and that’s something we will never take for granted.
