Athletics teach teamwork and sportsmanship

Athletics can be an important part of developing a well-adjusted individual. Our philosophy is to exercise the body as well as the mind, and healthy living is a focal point of our physical education classes.

Participation in extra-curricular athletics is open to everyone and completely voluntary. Our students enjoy the opportunity to test their skills in a variety of activities that are offered through and run by the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), such as:

  • football (boys 7 – 8)
  • basketball (girls and boys 3 – 8)
  • track and cross country (girls and boys 3 – 8)
  • volleyball (girls and boys 5 – 8)
  • cheerleading (girls 7 – 8)
  • ski club (no CYO)
  • tennis and golf (grades 7-8) (no CYO)

Students who participate in the activities above learn about teamwork and sportsmanship and so much more. Booing, heckling and other negative behaviors have no place in our programs and are not tolerated. Instead, students are taught to respect all participants, to engage in fair play, and to encourage their teammates in a positive way.
