Sacred Heart of Jesus School teaches children from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. At a time when many school districts are eliminating courses for budgetary reasons, we continue to offer weekly instruction in French, Spanish, Art, Music, Computer Education and Physical Education for all grades.
Our commitment to educating children is reflected in the many special services we offer. Title I and SLD tutors, intervention specialists, speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy and psychological services are available to our students.
Sacred Heart of Jesus School uses the curriculum provided by the Office of Catholic Education from the Diocese of Cleveland. The Diocese’s Curriculum Department supports the mission of the Office of Catholic Education by leading, assisting and supporting the principals and teachers though the development, evaluation and implementation of curriculum which flows from the philosophy and goals of Catholic education.
Each year our 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th grade students take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, and we are pleased to report that our students score considerably higher than their grade level nationally.
Graduates of Sacred Heart of Jesus School attend Catholic or public high schools and often excel in academics and sports. Many have been valedictorians, National Merit Finalists, Semi-finalists and Commended Scholars. Athletes have won individual and team state championships with their high school teams.
